Welcome to Telecine Guy, a brand new site offering the Telecine services of me, Robin Garton, a veteran of both the world of 'cine film, and broadcast video production. I'm also offering videotape to DVD transfers for domestic formats such as VHS, Hi-8 and even Betamax! Have a look at my list of formats supported.

Here on the left you can see a good example of a very clean, but very dull Super 8mm film. On the right hand side you can see how effective my colour correction and level adjustments can be. The quality of telecine film that I get to work with on a daily basis varies massively. I've seen everything from under-exposed, scratched, blurred and wobbly footage which is virtually unwatchable, to benchmark material that wouldn't look out of place in a television documentary. Hopefully I'll be able to transform your film into a pristine DVD or Blu-ray copy that you'll enjoy watching for years to come. I promise I'll do my best to get your precious footage looking as vibrant and clean as possible.

We can now offer you conversion of telecine film to high definition (720p, 1080i or 1080p). And seeing as 'cine film is not recorded using pixels with a limited resolution, this is good news for those of you who've treated yourself to a lovely big plasma or LCD screen. Once you have had your films transfered to a hi-def format, such as Sony's new Blu-ray, your viewing experience will be much more like the cinema (without the rude people talking and munching loudly) with clearer pictures that will stand up to being displayed on large screens and digital projectors.
